Microblading is a Semi-Permanent Makeup where tiny pigments are gently placed into your skin to give you those really natural-looking eyebrows. Unlike regular tattoos, it's not meant to last forever. Your skin is breathing and regenerating continuously, and the more active you are, the faster your microbladed eyebrows will fade. This is actually a good thing, because brow trend changes all the time, and as you age, you will notice that your skin kind of goes... sort of downwards and if you have a really "TATOOed" in brow that NEVER fades, it will look...weird!! Especially if they look like angry birds.... In this blog post, let's chat about why touching up your microblading or Permanent make up is a must to keep your brows looking amazing!!
Why Microblading Fades: Microblading is meant to have a NATURAL appearance. The pigments are deposited in a shallower layer of your skin that is not too deep, which is why they can gradually fade as your skin goes through its natural metabolic process. Unless it has a very strong black color, it usually fades into a more soft, orangish pink color. If your faded brow pmu is very light and has a shape that you like, it is possible to go over that shape to refresh the brow with some form of Permanent Makeup. If it is too dark or the shape is not what you like, it is recommended to lighten it with Laser treatment before doing any form.of Permanent Makeup.
Microblading is a building process: Microblading process requires a touch-up a few weeks after your initial appointment. It is normal for different parts of the brow to heal unevely which creates darker areas and lighter areas. This is why the touch up appointment is an absolute MUST to complete the look. To make your microblading last, we take our time. We start with a blueprint and build up your brow look over at least two sessions. We fine-tune the shape, tweak the color, and make everything just right for your unique style.
If touch ups are a requirement to complete the service, why do some brow PMU artists charge the initial session and touch-ups separately? Shouldn't it be a package price?
This is because Microblading is not a one size fits all treatment. Some people's skin are just not suited for this technique. If a client pays the deposit for both sessions at once but was not an ideal candidate for microblading, the artist will lose 2 appointment times and 2 potential income all at once. If the price of the initial appointment and the second session is separate, it will minimize the lost revenue and the time allocated for the client. Additionally, it is best to book your appointment after the artist see your brows at a consultation to determine if you are a good candidate.
On my online booking page, brow microblading service is displayed as "request to book". This means that I would like to see your upclose picture of your brow area before booking your appointment. You wlill be able to browse through the available times and dates, but, you would need to "request" to reserve your spot.
Yearly Check-Ins: Just like visiting an old friend once a year, your microblading needs some love too. My yearly sessions are like catching up with your brows. We check how they're doing, make any needed adjustments, and refresh the pigments. It's a way to keep them looking fresh and young, year after year.
Touch ups are the key to having brows that look great and stay that way. It's like giving your brows a little spa day.
Don't forget to give your brows some TLC with these touch-ups – it's how you keep them looking fabulous!
